Baby's Future | makingbabycoutts's Blog

While shopping my boyfriend mentioned that the baby will be reading from an early age just as he had. I joked around but was glad to hear him say that because it's very important to me that she value her education. It's a power that no one can ever take away from her.

He talked about homeschooling, too. As long as she has adequate interaction with other children to develop the necessary social skills I'm fine with that. It'll teach her self discipline in addition to giving her a solid educational foundation.

When he spoke of homeschooling I formed an image in my mind of the future. I saw myself making sandwiches for them in the kitchen while the they worked on class work together in the living room. I can almost hear him explaining things to her the same way he explains things to me, complete with drawings and examples. He is more patient than I am.

We seem to agree on what's important to us for her future. I feel very lucky in that regard because many couples disagree on a lot of important issues & come to an impasse. We share the same mid-western family values. That no doubt contributes to our being of like mind on what we feel is best for our childs future.
